Grades
Your final class grade is based on a percentage, with points earned for participation, class assignments, homework assignments, projects, quizzes, unit tests, and final exams. Note:
AAEC does not give D’s; a semester score of 69% or lower will
result in an F for the class which requires the student to repeat
the class, and makes him/her ineligible to take college classes
the following semester.
A 90 - 100%

B80 – 89% = B
|
C70-79% = C
|
F69% or lower

Make-up work
- Work missed during an excused absence may be made up according to school policy.
- Pre-assigned projects that fall due during an absence should be e-mailed to me on the due date to avoid the late work penalty.
- Following an absence, it is your responsibility to check the class Make-Up Book for handouts and assignments that need to be made up.
lATE WORK
Work is late if it’s not turned in on the day it is due. Late work will be accepted up to two days after the original due date, but will receive a 15% reduction in grade for each day late. After two days the grade for that work will become a zero. Extra credit, or make-up credit, will not be available to students whose grades are below passing because of late or missing work.
pLAGIARISM/CHEATING
Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated. Plagiarism is the use of another person’s work, regardless of quantity (sentence, paragraph, entire text, etc…) whether done deliberately or not. Cheating is copying or using another person’s answers on homework, daily work, quizzes or tests. To avoid plagiarism, students are expected to cite work and sources correctly; an excellent resource for doing this correctly in Purdue University’s On-line Writing Lab (Purdue OWL) @ owl.english.purdue.edu
